A leading law firm is seeking a Counsel to join its Real Estate Finance Practice Area in its New York office, part of its Public & Private Infrastructure & Real Estate Department. The firm’s Real Estate group is well regarded for its full range of sophisticated real estate services, with a team of more than 80 real estate transactions, finance, and workout professionals working nationally and internationally. The firm’s growing, multidisciplinary Affordable Housing Team advises clients ranging from community-based businesses to Fortune 100 companies on all aspects of affordable and mixed income/mixed-use housing and community development matters.

Qualified candidates will have 8+ years of commercial real estate finance experience representing secured lenders — including balance sheet, bridge, and CMBS/conduit lenders — in a sophisticated law firm setting. Experience with multifamily agency (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac) balance sheet platforms is preferred, and experience in affordable housing and/or workouts is a plus. Candidates should have a strong academic record, excellent writing and oral communication skills, and be a proven team player who inspires client confidence. NY Bar admission is required.

Salary range: $350,000–$450,000.
