Litigation Legal Assistant (Construction)

A law firm is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to support its Construction Litigation practice. The role performs a variety of secretarial duties for the attorneys and paralegals to whom assigned, requiring close attention to established policies and procedures, positive contact with clients, attorneys and staff, and strict confidentiality regarding client matters.

Responsibilities include producing and proofreading correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents; coordinating the filing and retrieval of electronic information through the firm’s document management system; screening calls and handling incoming and outgoing mail; maintaining calendars and deadline systems in Outlook; preparing and sending e-filings; opening and maintaining client files, including conflict checks; scheduling meetings; and processing and reviewing bills, including accurate time entry in the firm’s accounting system. The assistant also provides coverage and backup support for other attorneys as part of a broader administrative team.

Candidates should have approximately three to five years of legal assistant experience in construction litigation, along with strong knowledge of construction litigation processes, deadlines, procedures and court rules. Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office is required, with experience in iManage and Elite billing systems preferred. Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and the ability to transcribe at 60 wpm are also required.

Salary range: $75,000–$85,000.
